Not a replica. Not a fake. A custom watch built around a genuine Japanese Seiko NH38 automatic movement — the open-heart sibling of the legendary NH35, with a cutout dial that reveals the beating balance wheel. Housed in a premium rose gold Nautilus case with a chocolate dial you won't find anywhere else.
We start with an authentic Japanese NH38 automatic movement — 24 jewels, 41-hour power reserve, ±15s/day accuracy. The open-heart design reveals the balance wheel in motion through a cutout in the dial. Not a clone. Not a Chinese copy. Same Seiko engineering found in their $500+ watches.
Dual sapphire crystals (scratch-proof front AND display back), 316L stainless steel 41mm Nautilus case with rose gold PVD coating, and a custom open-heart chocolate dial. The integrated rose gold bracelet completes the look. Every part is selected for quality, not cost.
Each watch is built by hand in our workshop — movement regulated, open-heart dial aligned precisely, hands set, case pressure-tested. It leaves our bench only when it meets our standard.
Think of it like this: You're getting Japanese Seiko engineering — the NH38 open-heart movement from the same family as the NH35 found in the Seiko 5 Sports and Presage lines — in a custom-designed rose gold Nautilus watch built to our specifications. Same heartbeat. More personality. Half the retail price of a comparable Swiss open-heart.
These are the components that separate a serious watch from a disposable one. Every part is chosen to last.
The heart of the Nautilus Mod. A Japanese automatic movement that winds itself with the motion of your wrist — with a mesmerizing open-heart cutout that reveals the balance wheel ticking at 21,600 beats per hour. No battery, no quartz, just precision engineering you can see.
🔧 Genuine Seiko NH38 open-heart movement. Made in Japan. Installed and regulated by hand in our workshop.
The Nautilus Rose Gold from every angle. No renders — just the watch.
"The rose gold Nautilus case is stunning in person — photos don't capture how the light plays off the brushed and polished surfaces. The open-heart cutout on the chocolate dial is mesmerizing — I catch myself staring at the balance wheel during meetings. The NH38 runs at +4s/day. Looks and feels like a $2,000 watch. Already got three compliments on day one."
"Wanted the Nautilus look without the Nautilus price tag. This mod nails it — the rose gold is perfectly executed, not too pink, not too yellow. The integrated bracelet fits my 7in wrist perfectly after removing a few links. The open-heart is a genuine conversation starter."
"Fourth Emperor Mod. This Nautilus build is their most refined yet. The chocolate dial with the open-heart window is absolutely gorgeous — warm, rich, and the rose gold hands pop beautifully against it. The display caseback with the rose gold rotor is a flex. Running at +2s/day. Unreal value."
"The value proposition here is insane. NH38 open-heart automatic, dual sapphire crystals, rose gold Nautilus case with integrated bracelet, and a custom chocolate dial — all for under $300 shipped. My watchmaker confirmed the movement is genuine Seiko and the PVD coating is well-applied. Already planning my fifth."
Real photos from real owners. No renders. No Photoshop.
I started Emperor Mods because I was tired of choosing between overpriced retail watches and cheap fashion quartz. A Seiko mod gives you Japanese engineering — the same NH38 open-heart movement from the family Seiko puts in their $500+ watches — in a custom design that actually reflects your taste.
The Nautilus Rose Gold is one of my personal favorites. The chocolate dial with the open-heart cutout has a warmth you don't see often, and the rose gold case catches light in a way that turns heads without being loud. Every watch is hand-assembled in our workshop. I personally inspect each build before it ships: movement regulation, hand alignment, bezel finishing, bracelet fit. If it's not right, it doesn't leave.
We've built over 2,400 watches with over 1,800 shipped to US customers. Each one ships with a 1-year warranty. No questions asked, no hassle.
